This will hopefully be last corona/covid-19 post. Finland is moving to normal step by step. There are still restrictions. We didn’t got hit that badly. Some say we were lucky to hit so late and our measures worked better than expected. We still have some new cases but rate is going down. Everything starts to look normal again. I wished things like less cars would have stayed but cars are back everywhere. Maybe others saw how much better it was to have less cars and do something about it.
Remember when some people thought Sweden’s corona strategy was way to go. About couple weeks ago architect of their corona strategy said it was mistake. Until that Swedish people tried to convince themselves by telling others they will have as bad situation but it will take longer for others. My favorite argument was others doesn’t understand because they are not from Stockholm. Now Sweden has far highest death toll among Nordic countries and they still have epidemic when others have started to get back to normal. It wasn’t case of one outlier having best strategy when others stick similar strategies.
When countries who took covid-19 seriously start to open United States seem to want to join the party by ignoring the problem. It is like they think everything is ok when New York has got out of the worst and Brazil has caught them on daily death toll. Whole United States Covid-19 response is something outsiders can’t understand. Brazil’s response has been ignoring the problem. In United States it has gone from ignoring to trying to profit from it to what ever is happening there at the moment. It is almost as Trump and his gang calculate having pandemic running in United States will help his re-election changes or let him stay president for longer.
I know corona is moved not to Brazil, Mexico and India. It will probably hit Africa hard too. But I won’t be making more corona posts unless it gets worse here in Finland. Spring was dominated by corona news. Now we are starting to get other news too. We don’t get too many news from countries where corona is still problem unlike we did when it was problem in Western countries. Some may argue Sweden and United States are western countries. Sweden I might still count as western country but with United States it is bit harder. Joking aside. We still get news from those places but United States news are dominated by Black Lives Matter and what ever Trump has done which currently is not corona related.
